Beauty Buzz Trial - Terra Bella Subscription Box

Hey Beauty Bees,

Big beauty brands such as Urban Decay, NYX and Covergirl have a huge place in my heart, but I also love to support local small business as well. Kate Gray, creator of Terra Bella Box, agrees! She created a subscription box to fill the need of beauty products to replace all of the store-bought products on her bathroom shelves that were full of chemicals, that may or may not be tested on animals, and that only serve to profit huge corporations.

This subscription service sends you 5-6 natural beauty products each month. Each box will include a variety of beauty products for face, body, bath and hair, all sourced from small businesses that hand make their products using some of the best natural ingredients. You can opt for a monthly subscription or many other discounted packages. They also offer Terra Bella Box Lite, which is the same as the regular Terra Bella Box, except you only receive 2-3 items per month.

Here is what was included in the October 2015 box:

Hex Cosmetics Potions Loose Mineral Eye Shadow in Apparition - $8
This shadow is a very smoky grey shade that would be perfect for an evening look. It was definitely a harder shade to blend in but it was very pigmented and did not have any fall out, which is very surprising for a loose mineral shadow. I do really like that there is a little bit of sparkle in this shadow, to give it a bit more oomph.

Blackbird Cosmetics Loose Luxury Eye Shadow in Immortals - $6.50
This shadow was the opposite of the first, being a very pale pink shade, that would be my go to for a daytime matte look. This shade was super pigmented and blended out with such ease. It felt super silky on the skin and would also work well as a highlight shade. Once again, next to no fall out and a product you can really build up if you wanted.
Live Beautifully Whipped Lip Butter in Pumpkin & Vanilla- $5
This lip butter is the most sweetest and delicious smelling thing I have ever received. It really is the perfect combination since I love pumpkin smelling things and vanilla is a fool proof scent. I have never seen a lip butter that is whipped before but it makes it feel so light on the lips, almost like real butter or even icing (without the stickiness). As soon as you put it on the lips, it instantly feels soft and silky, leaving your lips feeling moisturized. I also think the size is perfect to throw into your bag, since you only need a very little amount for each usage. Check out Live Beautifully more a ton more amazing flavor combos for this product.
Bare Bones Body Care Toner - $10

This next product is as natural as it gets, since it only has two ingredients: witch hazel and organic lemon juice. It is suppose to leave your skin feeling clean and soft, without all the nasty chemicals that a lot of other toners have. I have heard a lot about witch hazel being great for cleansing the skin, but this will be the first time I ever use it. I will admit though how adorable the little bottle is, perfect for Halloween time!
Three Sisters Apothecary Gravenstein Apple & Clove Bar Soap - $3.25
I was super excited to smell this soap when I read the package since it sounded like such a nice Fall scent, unfortunately, it was way too strong for my taste. My Husband however, fell in love with it and he will be the one who will be enjoying it for the next couple weeks. I will admit the look of this soap looks so cool and the packaging also. I wish I liked the scent because I love when products are made with Shea Butter, like this, because it makes the skin so soft!
Battys Bath Dead Sea Mud Mask - $10
This last product was the most interesting out of the bunch for me. I love mud masks but I had never heard of this particular one that is pure dead sea mud without any other added ingredients. It is said to help purify your skin by drawing out toxins. It does have a very earthy scent and is a really thick consistency, but I am very curious on how well this will work. Since it does say to leave on for 30 mins+, I will probably test it out just on a patch of skin on my arm at first, then if all goes well, move on to my face.

Overall, I thought the Terra Bella Box was so interesting. To start off, I love that they based their October box on Halloween, including so many Halloween-y packaged items. The packaging of the products as well as the box itself was so adorable and put the biggest smile on my face. I also really loved that they took the extra step to bubble wrap the jarred items for extra safety. The variety of products also made me extremely happy including cosmetics, bath items, and skin care. I love the fact that this brands focuses on small businesses and with the included card, this box was able to share the websites of some new brands that I am going to look into more. The only downer about this box in my opinion is the price. My box retailed at $42.75 and with the price of the box being $37.95, you aren't really getting the best bang for your buck. Now being an avid subscription box lover, I know that it varies by month so next month could be much better in the value category.
