How to Make Hair Look Thicker or Fuller

How to Make Hair Look Thicker or Fuller
Hey Beauty Bees,

I know that I am not the only person who suffers from this, but my hair is on the thinner side and tends to look like its stuck to my head. I usually straighten my hair but some days I like to make my hair look more voluminous, even if it is straightened. For years I have been using some of these tips to help make my hair look more full and thick and today I wanted to share them with you.

Before Bed
I have used this tip a lot during High School since it helped getting ready super quick in the morning. Spray some dry shampoo in your hair at night! While you toss and turn in your sleep, your pillow will help the product absorb oil and give you volume at the same time. Once you wake up, just give it a quick styling and your good to go. This can also be done with mousse in wet hair since it gives roots a boost and creates volume without stickiness.. Bonus Tip: If you have long hair, braid the damp, moussed hair before going to bed for textured waves in the morning.

Hair Cut/ Style
You may be "blessed" with thin hair, but you get to choose how your cut it! Shorter hair styles always give off a more fuller look since long hair is heavier and becomes more flat. Also, look into getting some layers since it helps hair appear thicker. For the style, straight hair always seems to make hair look thinner but curls or waves will give the illusion of fullness. Bonus Tip: Invest in a good teasing brush or comb to build height and volume in your hair.

Products
Look for volumizing or thickening formulas in hair products such as mousse, hairspray, and texturizers. Volumizing powder is relatively new to the scene and can help hair look fuller by fluffing it up at the roots.

Extensions
This is a great option if you love your hair the way it is, but just want a little bit extra "umph" once in a while. Invest in some clip in extensions that are around the same length of your hair to add some volume. Anything longer will not disguise thinning hair, just give you additional length.

Blow-drying Technique
Personally, I like to let my hair air dry at least 60% of the way before reaching for a blow dryer and this always helps give me some natural body. If you prefer to just blow dry, begin by fipping over your hair and dry until most of the dampness is gone. Then flip your hair back over and blow dry the rest of your hair in sections using a round brush. Bonus: Using a diffuser can also help boost your hair’s volume.

Shampoo/Conditioner
Use a thickening system when you wash your hair. I have been using Biotera's Ultra Thick & Full collection for almost 2 weeks now and I have noticed a huge difference in the thickness of my hair especially when I put it up in a pony tail.

"Launched in May 2015, the three-piece collection is designed to instantly increase hair diameter, giving the appearance of an additional 5,000 hair fibers on the head—and an instantly thicker feel and more voluminous look."

The Ultra Thick & Full line includes:
• Sheer Volume Shampoo (16.9 oz)
• Sheer Volume Conditioner (16.9 oz)
• InstaPlump® Leave-In Treatment (4 oz), a body-building, root-boosting mist
