Summer Beach Bag Must Haves

Summer is finally here and as the temperature rises and sun's UV rays get stronger, it can only mean one thing. It is time to head to that wonderful place with all the warm sand and that cool, refreshing water. This summer, the beach will definitely be one of my favorite places to spend my time, but what do I bring with me. Here is my summer beach bag must have checklist.

1. Cute beach bag - You will need a tote bag that is big enough to hold everything you will need, but always remember that you can make a fashion statement with your accessories. You can always use a backpack as well.

This is a more brighter option and will definitely stand out against that beach sand. It is see thru so it is much easier to dig into and find what you need. (Victoria Secret Pink $34.50) 

2. Bathing Suit - Unless you are going to be swimming in your clothes, this is a necessary item. Now a days there are so many different options for bathing suits: one piece or two piece; tankini, bandeau or triangle top; bikini, high waisted or boy short bottom. You can mix or match pieces. The combinations are endless so have some fun with it.

A more classic style of bathing suit. Solid color pieces are a great staple since they can mix and match with other patterned pieces. (Delia's $15 a piece)

3. Towel - Now I have experienced forgetting a towel when heading to the beach and trust me, sitting on sand is not comfortable. You can use any towel you like but always remember to shake it out before leaving because you do not want to bring the beach home with you, well not the messy part of it.

4. Sunglasses- Another great way to accessorize while out to the beach, while still having a purpose of protecting those eyes. Even the prescription glasses wearers out there (such as myself) can still be able to wear sunglasses whether you choose a prescription set or specially designed pairs that can fit comfortable right over your regular pair.

5. Sunscreen - You will enjoy your day at the beach but without this next product, your next few days will not be so enjoyable. Everybody wants that perfect tan but you do not want to leave looking like a tomato. Depending on your skin of course, 30-50 SPF is usually high enough, but always remember to reapply if needed especially if your in the water.



This has been my favorite brand for sunscreen forever. Also sprays or mists are much more user friendly. (Amazon $5.94) 

6. Evian Spray - Now this is a personal favorite. I have never been a person who could handle immense heat so this product was a savior when I first found it. It is a mineral water mist spray for your face. It is a great way to feel refreshed at the beach or anywhere else when that hot sun has got you feeling gross. It is also a great product to use with a full face of makeup as it helps keep your makeup stay put when you feel that your face has started to "melt".

7. Sea Salt Spray - This is a must have for any after beach plans. After swimming, your hair always comes out with the most gorgeous curls and waves that girls will spend hours in front of a mirror with curling irons to replicate. This one product helps enhance and seals in those curls to last throughout the entire day. Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. All you need is a few spritzes and tousle hair for some amazing waves.

8. Hair Brush - You might need this to help out your hair situation if you choose not to use a product such as above.                     
9. Hat - Another great way to accessorize while still having a purpose to protect your precious heads from those UV rays. Also, a way to tame hair if you forget items 7 and 8. Do you prefer the more structured style hats or is floppy the way to your heart?

10. Entertainment - Magazines. Books. Ipod. Cellphone. Anything that you can do while you lay on your towel and take in the sun. Football. Volleyball. badminton rackets. For those athletic beach goers who like to work up a sweat before jumping into the water. Shovels and pail. For those who are creative and are still kids at heart. Or just for the boys who enjoy digging really big holes.
