Spring 2015 Trends: Beauty
Hey Beauty Bees,
Over the weekend was Day Lights Saving time, in turn we pushed our clocks forward one hour. With more daylight each day we can definitely say Spring is on its way, 11 days to be exact. This means that we need to get ourselves prepared for some new routines when it comes to beauty and fashion. Most inspiration comes from the fashion shows of the year and how those models look coming down that runway. We are meant to pick apart the different trends that come from these shows to put towards our own style for everyday life. I have done the leg work for everyone and am here to talk about some of the many trends that came up for Spring 2015.
Makeup
Dark Liquid Eyeliner - This Spring is all about the dark, harsh eyeliner look that will work for day or night. There are so many different ways that you can use your liner to play out this trend. You could go for a cat eye if you’re feeling fun and playful, or try a uber thick line on your upper lashes for a bold look. Play around with the thickness and length of your lines to see what works best for you.
Purple Eye-shadow - This trend has been called the "purple haze"across the eyes. This hue makes dark and pale skin really pop. Blend together mauve and lavender shades to create the new season's smoky eye, but remember to keep the rest of your makeup light to keep the purple from looking heavy. Of course, I love this because purple is my favorite color but there are two other reasons I think this is a great choose. First, purple shadows looks amazing with any eye color. Second, I feel that a color like this for smoky eyes is perfect for Spring nights since black and browns can seem very heavy.
No Makeup - Now jumping to the opposite side of the spectrum. The whole "no makeup" trend went extreme this year by doing exactly what it says - wearing no makeup. We saw so many models without foundation or mascara and just completely working it. This look is executed by started with moisturized skin then paired with highlighting and contouring to bring out the strength of women's features. You could also do this trend by just adding a pinky-nude lip with very subtle blush for a more "barely there" look.
Hair
Braids - This has been a popular trend for a while now and its popularity only seems to be growing. We saw braided hair alot going down the runway. What is great about braids is that you can make them as simple or elegant as you want, perfect for day or night looks. I love to make mine very messy and loose when I am going for a more casual look then get more intricate for a night out.
Low Ponytails - What is easier then throwing your hair into a low pony which was seen all over the runway. This hair look is so stylish and sophisticated since it does not bounce around alot making you look like a teenage cheerleader. Try different styles by parting your hair differently or wear it straightened, textured or curled.
Au Natural Texture - Instead of the perfectly styled hairstyles of past runways, this year hair looked more relaxed and un-styled. The air dried low-maintenance do is natural, textured and beautiful so ditch your hair dryer and just let your hair do what it wants. Using a texturizing spray can add some extra volume and shape to this look.

Negative Nail Manicure - We got barely there makeup and natural hair but that theme does not stop there. On the runway we saw a sophisticated, polished take on showing some of your nude, polish-free fingers. Many designers painted geometrical shapes or designs on the nail and left the rest nude. An easy way to try this look at home is by simply painting a colored line across your finger. Simple and beautiful.

There are many more trends that were displayed during this years Spring Fashion shows, but these are just the main ones I picked up on and thought would work for every girl. It is now your turn to take one or two of these trends and work them into your everyday looks. Leave a comment below on how you integrated these trends into your own personal style.
